So many exciting things!

There are tons of wonderful things happening right now… and I’ll be posting about them soon.  In the mean time, I was featured on Illustration Served (direct), and RISD Makes (direct).

Today is my birthday!  Here is how I’ve decided to celebrate: with a FREE GIVEAWAY! I’m going to send some of my postcards out to my tumblr followers.  Here is how it works:
Send me an email at cjcyr@charter.net  Include your name, shipping address, and tumblr name (follow me if you haven’t already!)
I will send postcards to the first 25 people to email me.

Look at these!  I just finished a bunch of triangluar buisness cards and handouts.  These guys have my piece the Three and the Tower on one side and I have two different backs- one with a blow-up of the trees and one with a city pattern I designed.

I’m quite fond of playing with them right now.

Yesterday I graduated from RISD.  Goodbye RISD!  I’ll miss you.

Congratulations & Good Luck to everyone who graduated with me yesterday.  Keep in touch in the coming years!

What an exciting weekend!  I just got back from NYC (first time!) where I attended the Society of Illustrators 2012 Student Scholarship Competition.  It was amazing to see so much great art in one place.  My friend and classmate, the incredible Amanda Beard, also attended- her Ten Little Corgis piece is SO CUTE.  Marika Cowan’s animation Kith was showing in the Winsor McCay Screening Room (and received an Honorable Mention!).

The San José State ShrunkenHeadMan’s Club presented me with an awesome t-shirt with their logo on it as a gift on top of the scholarship.  They are way too cool!

Overall it was a mind blowing experience.  Chloe Batch attended with me and we both were in such awe to see so much great student work as well as great work from illustrators past- like JC Leyendecker. (Doesn’t Chloe look a bit like Leyendecker’s Painting?)

The show looks great- if you are in New York before June 1 you should definitely check it out!

I did another prototype packaging for tea- this time for Earl Grey.  I’m thinking I might do a third one just to round out the idea.  I really enjoyed doing this one though.  I’ll put up the finished art of the these boxes at some point.

Thanks for coming out to our show last Thursday everyone!  I really had an amazing night.  This was a great wrap-up for an awesome year.

I’m working on a new project!  I’m visualizing the main character right now so I thought it might be helpful to do a quick sculpt of her head based on some sketches I had made.

Prototype packaging for tea that I’m designing.  I had a lot of fun painting that lion’s head.  Also, I’ve wanted to put a dandelion in a piece for a while now.
